Les Joyaux de le Princesse. "Douce France". (10", Tesco)

A far cry from the days when they accompanied Death in June, but invigorating and some how cataclysmic in it's delivery. 2 tracks and not very lengthy. But with an impeccable presentation including 4 postcards and text solely in French, so I am unable to truly decipher the context and implications of the overall work. The first song opens with a French speech lambasted by heavy, dense sounds of war and conveys the sincere oppression of the war front and lapses into an era recording (I assume). Side 2 starts of with layered trench sounds slowly metamorphosing into the same with text and song (once again of the 40's one presumes) and the two tracks together demonstrate how truly throttling, devastating and thick electronics can be whilst still steering away from the shrill of high end frequencies. Highly recommended.
